CONGRATULATIONS! and every good wish to the members of the Board of the Mart elected at a Meeting of Shareholders on Wednesday night last. They have a serious responsibility to ensure that it no only runs well and prospers but also develops into a significant project for farmers, local business and the wider community.
The resilience of this community in ensuring that the Mart was bought has a huge significance for our community and communities in general. It has been a huge testament to local initiative and what can be achieved when people pull together.
It has been said: if every community in Ireland could show this kind of initiative and have the determina-tion to see it through this country could be trans-formed. It is a great example of what is needed at this present time.
