Two Clare schools have been given high marks in the latest round of inspections by the Department of Education.
The quality of accomodation at one West Clare school has been praised, while staff and the board of management at Kilmurry National School have also met with inspectors’ approval

Department of Education officials have complimented Kilmurry National School in their report following a whole school evaluation there last September.
Having recorded increased enrolment in recent years, the school has 137 pupils which inspectors found are very well behaved.
The provision of science was described as the school’s strength, and it’s board of management as enthusiastic.
It was recommended that further emphasis be placed on fostering an Irish atmosphere in the building.
Meanwhile, inspectors found the quality of the school accomodation at St. Joseph’s National School in Cree to good, and praised the overall quality of students’ written work.
Top marks were given for the fostering of links with the community, with parents and with other local schools, though teachers there were encouraged to extend their methodologies to facilitate more engagement amongst it’s 41 pupils.
