Sixmilebridge-Kilmurry and Nord-sur-Erdre

A delegation from the Sixmilebridge-Kilmurry Twinning committee are in Nord-Sur-Erdre in the Loire-Atlantique department of western France from August 25th to 29th.  They were invited after the completion of a successful preliminary visit by a delegation from Nord-Sur-Erdre who visited Sixmilebridge-Kilmurry in May of this year.

They will be attending the celebrations of Nord-Sur-Erdre’s tenth anniversary of successful twinning with Piedrabuena, Spain and will see first hand evidence of the success of a strong twinning partnership.  They will get to meet key people from both sides and learn how to further develop the project here at home.

The delegation travelling on August 25th is being led by Councillor John Crowe, Ger McErlain (Chairman), Tony Kinnane (Secretary) and committee members Seán Ward, Seán Devanny, John Nihill, Christopher Carey, Monica and John Doyle. The aim of this trip is to further explore twinning possibilities in the areas of sport, education, music, culture and trade. This is another milestone in this Irish-French twinning partnership.  Full report after the visit. For more information – check out the facebook page –  Sixmilebridgetwinning
