The Kieran MacMahon Memorial Classic cycle race is an event celebrating the life and career of one of the finest sportsmen from this region.

The event will include 3 races to involve all categories of senior Irish road racing cyclists and will attract a large field of competitors. The race course has been selected to be a serious challenge to all but the strongest riders as befits the memory of a cyclist who from his earliest days in the sport never shirked any challenge.

The feature event will be a race of classic proportions for cyclists of categories A+, A1 and A2 riders. This race will take place on a circuit of East County Clare starting and finishing near Clonlara village. The race starts near Clonlara going through Broadford, Feakle and Killanena to the Galway county boundary near Gort, then returning via Mahera through Tulla, Kilkishen and Sixmilebridge.
